ICE Operation 10

Freedom Dance Festival

1st May 1999 - Electric Workshop, Newtown

What a party ! Over 10 000 people joined the celebration, and the ICE Organisers did not fail to deliver a top quality production (as usual). The main house floor was in the now-legendary Electric Workshop, whilst outside there were tents that hosted the Big Beat & Jungle (from 206), one with Trance & the Rustlers Crew and another a big chill room. Down in the Megamusic warehouse, the beats were hard and fast with techno from The Harder Option crew.

RaveSafe had a room up in the E-workshop, where we did our normal information table, safe space tent and general PLUR hangout. We also did a small house floor, with DJ's Allan, Antoine, Gareth, Richard and Kevin delivering thumping'n'pumping house the whole night. The sound system was kindly sponsored by Allan. The ICE organisers (Graham, Darren and Rhett) gave us a R3000 donation !

Thanks to the RaveSafe team for the night: Wayne, Ami, Lee, Heidi, Warren, Andre, Terry, Frankie, Drew, Danny, Jethro, Fabio, Andrew, Doram and Anka.
